The University of Waikato will provide a guest network.

Caring for the whenua (the land)

  • Please bring your own name badge and bag
  • Please bring a keep-cup for hot drinks
  • We will be eating vegetarian (other dietary requirements such as Halal, Vegan, Gluten Free and Dairy Free will also be accommodated)
  • We suggest you use public transport where possible (see bus route links below)

 

Dress for pōwhiri (welcome ceremony)

For the formal welcome (pōwhiri) on Wednesday 27 November) registrants are requested to wear black and to have covered legs in a dress or long pants.

Bookseller

On Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November, Books for Kids will be selling books as part of the conference. https://www.booksforkids.co.nz/



Catering

Morning and afternoon teas (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday) as well as lunches (Thursday/Friday/Saturday) will be served nearby the two conference spaces: (TL2.26 and TL2.19 or TC1.13)

Meals for registrants with dietary requirements will be clearly identified.

 

Climate in Hamilton

The climate in Hamilton in November can be very changeable. We could have sun, we could have rain, but it’s unlikely to be very cold.

Onsite parking for attendees

If you are bringing a car to the conference, please park in the General Carpark off Gate 10 Silverdale Road https://www.waikato.ac.nz/contact-us/map?GATE10 

Use the free PayMyPark app to pay parking fees, or pay online at the PayMyPark website. Attendees cannot park in a numbered/named park because these are reserved for permit holders at all times (clamping fees apply).

Parking rates

There is a cost of $2.00 per day for parking between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

The Meteor Bus (East bound) can be taken from the Transport Centre to the University. It stops on Hillcrest Road opposite Gate 4.

There is a bus hub on campus by the Pharmacist located by the lakes.

Bus numbers 17, and 13 can be taken from here to Hamilton central city or Hamilton East  (a nearby suburb where there are many eateries).
