Associate Professor Adrienne Sexton

Adrienne is a genetic counsellor with over 15 years’ experience in clinical practice, with specific expertise in the areas of cancer genetics and neuro-genetics.  She is currently Chair of the Board for Genetic Counselling in Australasia and is a senior academic with the Master of Genetic Counselling course at University Technology Sydney as well as holding an honorary A/Prof role at The University of Melbourne.  Adrienne provides high quality genetic counselling, combining counselling skills with personalised genetic information to assist clients to make meaning from their experiences, make informed decisions, and be proactive about their own and their family's health.                 

Dr Sumi Ananda is a medical oncologist based at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre,Western Health and Epworth Freemason's. Her particular interests are in gynaecological and gastrointestinal Cancers,(manages all solid tumours). She is focused on providing first class patient care whilst conducting high quality clinical and translational research. She is an Associate Director of Cancer Trials Australia which provides a fully comprehensive oncology clinical trials service. She leads the clinical trials program and education at Western Health and has an established track record in being a Principal Investigator in multiple clinical trials.Her current research interest is in circulating tumour DNA.

A/Prof Satish Warrier is a colorectal surgeon at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Alfred Health and Epworth HealthCare. He completed the Australasian Colorectal Training scheme including a 12-month clinical fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in 2011. Satish is the immediate past chair of the Victorian Training Program for general surgery, the incoming Australian deputy for General Surgery Australia training board (GSA), the SIMG representative for GSA, the Colorectal Surgical Society of NZ (CSSANZ) representative for the surgical oncology division of RACS, the CSSANZ program director for Alfred Health, and a newly appointed member to the CSSANZ training board. Satish also chairs the Epworth HealthCare Colorectal Audit. 

Satish is a high volume robotic colorectal surgeon with a particular interest in advanced colorectal techniques and teaching in robotic surgery. He has helped introduce techniques such as complete mesocolic excision, complex exenterative surgery such as sacrectomy and sciatic nerve excision using a robotic platform into clinical practice both nationally and internationally. He is a clinical expert in robotic right hemicolectomy, left colectomy, and low anterior resections. He has taught many general and colorectal surgeons surgical robotics utilising established fellowships and proctorship partnerships.  He is also a peritoneal cancer surgeon.

Satish is an active researcher having published over 240 peer reviewed publications, supervises higher degree students through University of Melbourne, as well as having strong links with Monash University. He regularly reviews for many high-profile surgical journals including BJS. 

Bridget Sussex is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with over 10 years’ experience in a diverse range of Oncology treatment spaces ranging from inpatient care, chemotherapy unit and community based outpatient and palliative care settings. She is currently working across Epworth Richmond’s acute Oncology and Chemotherapy units.

Andrew is a specialist radiation oncologist who has expertise in the management of urological, breast, gastrointestinal, skin and general oncology and is a credentialed prostate brachytherapist. He is trained in stereotactic radiosurgery locally and internationally with a number of research initiatives exploring the merits of this advanced radiation technology.

Dr Ayesha Saqib is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). She completed her Medical Oncology Specialist training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. She has keen interest in management of breast cancer, hepatobiliary and GI cancer, Lung cancer and Neuro-oncology. She is passionate about providing her patients with an exceptional standard of care. She believes in latest evidence based approach for her oncology patients. She regularly attend national and international Oncology conferences with active participation to enhance her knowledge of new modality of treatment available across the world. Her aim is to improve patient outcome by incorporating novel agents and new treatment modalities in day to day cancer patient management.

Dr Bhaumik Shah looks after broad range of malignancies. He has trained in Peter MacCallum Cancer Center. He looks after patients with suspected cancer, proven cancer and end of life scenarios. He is involved in teaching Monash and Melbourne universities. He has been an examiner in college of physicians. He has participated in research projects involving supportive care for patients and families. He enjoys intricacies of complex discussions to guide patients and families at diagnosis, complications of treatments and end of life. They deserve an honest and compassionate unhurried chat. His patients can contact him directly after-hours for any emergency situations. They find it very comforting. He provides consultations at 4 locations including Central, North, Western Melbourne and Gisborne.

Dr Costas Yannakou is a clinical haematologist with a particular interest in clinical trials, the treatment of lymphoma and the use of genomic testing in patients with blood cancers. He holds a number of leadership positions at the Epworth including the co-directorship of the Cancer Services Clinical Institute, the directorship of the Haematology Clinical Trials Unit and the deputy directorship of the Department of Molecular Oncology and Cancer Immunology. He is committed to providing cutting edge treatment options to patients with blood cancers by integrating research into his everyday practice.

Luke joined Epworth Freemasons at the inception of the GP Clinic in East Melbourne. Luke has also served as a mentor for overseas trained doctors, a clinical tutor and examiner at The University of Melbourne, an examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a member of the Epworth Freemasons Medical Advisory Committee. Luke is an experienced, caring and trusted GP who provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages from East Melbourne and its surrounds, the broader Melbourne metropolitan area and, indeed, rural Victoria. Luke has well-established professional relationships with specialists and diagnostic services within the Epworth network and beyond. He enjoys all facets of general practice, and has special interests in preventative health, including comprehensive check-ups, men's health, mental health and sexual health. He prescribes PrEP, provides Implanon insertion and removal, and performs minor surgery.

Jacob McCormick is a colorectal surgeon who is experienced in all areas of colorectal surgery. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive management, as well as extended surgery for locally advanced and recurrent rectal and pelvic cancers; an area in which he is currently completing a Master's Degree. Other areas of interest include advanced colonoscopy and peritioneal disease, including cytoreduction and heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy, as well as perianal conditions.

Tim Chittleborough is a colorectal and general surgeon who is experienced in all areas of colorectal surgery and also enjoys general and acute surgery. Tim's areas of interest is inherited colorectal carcinoma in which he undertook a research doctorate. Areas of expertise include minimally invasive approaches to the treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, proctology (anal conditions) and colonoscopy. Tim also performs hernia surgery including incisional, ventral and groin hernia, both laparoscopic and open approaches.
