Conference Code of Conduct
Our event will present opportunities to learn, share knowledge and network. We believe
the event should represent a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all people,
irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexuality, religion, disability, socio-economic
background, experience, size, shape and so on. No one should be subject to any
harassment, bullying or abuse. Any such behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take
such action as we deem necessary to ensure it does not reoccur. This may include
immediate removal from the physical or virtual event and a prohibition from attending
future events. This Code of Conduct explains exactly what we mean by unacceptable
behaviour.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual
orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in
public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing sustained disruption of talks or
other content, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. If
a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the organisers may take any action they
deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no
refund.
Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not
use sexualised images, activities, or other material in promoting their organisation or in
communication with participants.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other
concerns, please contact a member of the organising committee immediately. Contact
information for the team will be shared with all participants prior to the event.
This code of conduct applies for the conference as well as any conference-related social
events. By attending, participants are agreeing to follow this code of conduct.
