Janelle Brennan graduated from medical school at the University of Melbourne in 1997. After this she went on to do further post-graduate surgical training at St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne. Janelle completed her training as a general surgeon in 2003. Following this she did two years of full time research at St. Vincent's looking at the molecular biology of metastatic bladder cancer. She then commenced urology training in 2006 and became a fully fledged urological surgeon in 2009 and subsequently spent 12 months in Auckland, New Zealand undertaking sub-speciality training in uro-oncology and female & reconstructive urology. She moved to Bendigo in June 2010 and is currently Head of Urology at Bendigo Health. She also provides outreach services to Swan Hill and visits St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne where she is actively involved in teaching sacral neuromodulation. She is also actively involved in clinical trials and training nurse practitioners. When not working, she tries to play golf, expand her knowledge of wine, and watch her beloved Richmond Tigers with her dog Dusty.

Benjamin M Brucker, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Urology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University Langone Health in New York City. He earning his M.D. degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate medical training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and then New York University. He is the Director of the Division Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery and Neurourology. Dr. Brucker also serves as the departments safety officer and is the program director of the FPMRS fellowship.

Dr. Brucker has an interest in male and female incontinence and pelvic floor disorders. He had authored numerous papers and lectured internationally on these topics. He has a research interest in urodynamics and neurourology. He is one of the founding members of the Young SUFU Members Committee. He has been involved with the SUFU Clinical Care Pathway for OAB and the Antibiotics guidelines for Urodynamics with this society. He is also a member of the AUA, ICS and AUGS.

Dr Marcus Carey is a urogynaecologist based in Melbourne, Australia.

Marcus is the Head of Unit for both the Urogynaecology and Gynaecology 3 units at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. Marcus undertakes private urogynaecology practice at Frances Perry House, Melbourne.

Marcus is most interested in research focusing on improving surgical (vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic) and conservative methods for treating pelvic organ prolapse. Marcus has spent time operating and teaching in Ethiopia and Nepal, and is currently developing a non-surgical prolapse management program for low-resource settings.

Dr Caroline Dowling has had a long term career interest in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in both simple and video-urodynamic studies, as well as diagnosis and surgical management of incontinence and prolapse.

As well as practicing, she is the co-author of book chapters and several journal publications across her field, assisted research in urogynaecology, and has spent time as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at Monash University.

Dr Dowling has a special interest in incontinence, prolapse and pelvic floor dysfunction, neurourology and urodynamics and general urology.
 

Dr Sandra Elmer practices in general urology with specialist interests in neurological bladder dysfunction, functional urology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She specializes in endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery, laser surgery for kidney stones and prostate enlargement, and is passionate about treating male and female urinary incontinence.

Sandra has a keen interest in clinical research and plays an active role in mentoring and training junior doctors. She has presented her urological research internationally and has been the recipient of multiple prizes from the Urology Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Eva is a New Zealand-trained Auckland urologist specialising in female urology and urogynaecology.

She was born and raised in Wellington, attended the University of Auckland School of Medicine and completed the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Advanced training in urology.

Eva then undertook a two-year American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology/American Board of Urology accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic medicine and Reconstructive surgery in New York University, New York. Under the tutelage of Dr Victor Nitti, an internationally renowned urologist, and Dr Nirit Rosenblum, Eva gained expert skills in up to date 'state of the art' treatments of female and male incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and complex pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Eva has been actively involved in clinical research and has presented at international and national meetings, published several peer reviewed articles and written book chapters including a chapter in 'Vaginal surgery for the Urologist' (Elsevier Health) on how to perform a focused examination on women with pelvic floor dysfunction.

Eva's treatment philosophy is based upon careful evaluation of your condition and utilizing her expertise in multiple techniques of therapy to offer you an optimal treatment plan that you feel comfortable with.

Eva divides her time professionally between Waitemata District Health Board and ONESIXONE.

Mr Johan Gani is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. He completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne in 2000, and his Urology training in 2010. He undertook further fellowship programmes at Concord Hospital, Sydney and at Toronto Western Hospital, Canada.

Johan subspecialises in Functional Urology and his research interest include male/female incontinence, female urology, neurogenic bladder, and sacral neuromodulation. He is a consultant at the Western Hospital and the Austin Hospital, where he is the direct supervisor of local and international Functional Urology fellows. He is currently the Urology representative on the Part 1 Clinical Examination Committee of the College of Surgeons.

Associate Professor Laurence Harewood trained in General Surgery and Urology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.

Laurence was a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in urology in Australia, carrying out the first laparoscopic nephrectomy in Australia at the Freemasons Hospital in 1993. He has researched and published on minimally invasive therapy for BPH. He has been a well known proponent of robotic surgery for the prostate and kidney, commencing with Robotic Radical Prostatectomy for Carcinoma of the Prostate at the Epworth Eastern Hospital in 2005. He has been the Head of Unit of Urology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, President of the World Congress of Endourology and a Board Member of the Freemasons Hospital. He was appointed Clinical Associate Professor in Urology in the Department of Surgery of the University of Melbourne in 2008. He is the Director of the Urology and Vascular Clinical Institute at Epworth. He ceased clinical work in 2021, but continues in his role at Epworth, provides medico-legal opinions and is carrying out a clinical research project on PSMA PET scans in prostate cancer in conjunction with the Whitten Foundation at Epworth. He provides a consulting service for NanoKnife focal treatment of prostate cancer.

Dr Lachlan Henderson is a medical practitioner who has 30 years’ experience in the health industry, joining Epworth in February 2017.

Lachlan’s previous executive roles include CEO St John of God (SJG) Subiaco Hospital, Executive Director of SJG Perth Northern Region, CEO SJG Pathology and the Group Director Medical Services and Strategy, SJG. Prior to taking on these roles, he was a General Practitioner for more than a decade. Critical to his success has been his focus on quality patient care and staff satisfaction while enhancing the business and financial outcomes for the organisation.

In his career, Lachlan has held a variety of University and Board appointments. He is currently Vice President of the Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) and Chair of Cricket Australia.

Dr Susan Kouloyan-Ilic graduated from University of Melbourne and completed her radiology training at The Alfred where she completed her MRI fellowship. Susan's areas of special interest follows women’s health in particular gynaecologic and breast Imaging.

Susan commenced with Epworth Medical Imaging when they launched in December 2013, she brings with her a wealth of gynaecologic imaging experience from her role at The Royal Women’s Hospital. 

Associate Professor Luis Prado MBBS FRACMA FRACGP FACHE FCHSM FAAQHC FISQua FACMQ Grad Dip Sp Med, is the Executive Director Academic and Medical Services and Chief Medical Officer of Epworth HealthCare. He is a specialist in medical administration and clinical governance, and a censor and board director of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. He is also a practicing specialist general practitioner with a special interest in sports medicine.

A/Professor Prado is the first Australian to hold Fellowships, by examination, of both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Medical Quality. He also holds Fellowships of the Australian College of Health Service Management, the Australian Association of Quality in Health care and the International Society of Quality in Healthcare.

Dr. Vincent Tse is currently Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, Australia, and Consultant Urologist at Concord Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney. His special interest is in the investigation and management of all types of urinary incontinence, Urodynamics, bladder functional disorders, urethral strictures and pelvic organ prolapse surgery. He is a member of the Standardisation and Terminology Committee of the International Continence Society (ICS), and the current chair of the Female and Functional Urology Section of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), and the scientific co-chair for ICS Melbourne 2021 Annual Meeting.

Dr Tse has been an invited speaker and surgeon, both locally and internationally, including the USA, Europe and Asia. He and his team recently published the first bi-national guideline on management on the adult overactive bladder in Australia and New Zealand. He has co-edited two books on urinary incontinence and the pelvic floor and authored over 50 papers and abstracts in this area. He is an advocate of multidisciplinary care in the management of incontinence and pelvic floor disorders.
