Food & Fibre Insights Short Course

This course is specifically designed for professionals seeking to expand their knowledge to be on the leading frontier of the food and fibre landscape in New Zealand.  Retaining a consumer centric view, the course has a focus on three key themes: The impact of science and technology, trade and regulation, and the evolution of circular food systems.

New Zealand and international experts will deliver course content and facilitate sessions including KPMG Global Head of Agribusiness Ian Proudfoot, leading lecturers at the University of Waikato, and other guest presenters.

Six topics are explored, and participants are able to independently work through course material in their own time, while also engaging in one virtual live discussion workshop each week.

This course is delivered in a blended format with content comprising of pre-recorded videos, short readings, discussion sessions and an optional half-day face-to-face workshop at the end of the programme (see Short Couse Workshop Schedule below).

Learning Outcomes:

Partcipants who sucessfully complete this course should be able to:

  1. Discuss the key and emerging challenges and opportunities available in the New Zealand food and fibre sector.

  2. Make informed business decisions within the New Zealand agribusiness context.

  3. Create practical solutions for business cases relevant to the future of food and nutrition, supply chain, biotechnology, waters and oceans, and safety and provenance.
