The Queensland Training Awards are the state's highest recognition of people and organisations who strive for success, best practice and innovation in training.

The awards showcase and highlight the significant contribution made by Queensland's vocational education and training (VET) sector to the wider Queensland community and economy.

There are 14 award categories in total.

The seven individual award categories and four of the employer categories are initially contested across the state's seven regional areas - Tropical North Queensland, North Queensland, Central Queensland, Darling Downs South West, North Coast, South East and Metropolitan.

The 11 regional categories are:
• Small Employer of the Year
• Medium Employer of the Year
• Large Employer of the Year
• Community Training Initiative of the Year
• VET Teacher or Trainer of the Year
• Equity Student of the Year
• School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
• Vocational Student of the Year
• Bob Marshman Trainee of the Year
• Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year

Regional winners of the seven individual award categories and four of the organisational categories are automatically selected as state finalists and go on to compete for the state award on Saturday 7 September 2024.

The Small Training Provider and Large Training Provider categories and Premier's Industry Collaboration Award are presented at the state level only.
