Master of Ceremonies: Chris Parsons

Chris Parsons’ TV career began with an ad in the paper, ‘’WANTED: TV Presenter, Gold Coast Lifestyle Show - must be presentable, have good communication skills and ability to remember lines’’. Unsure how many of those attributes he actually possessed, Chris drove down the highway and into a career that has become his absolute passion. A career that has seen him present and produce numerous episodes of popular travel shows ‘Queensland Weekender’, ‘The Great South East’ and ‘Creek to Coast’, ‘One Road  - Great Australian Road Trips and host of the national Lotto.

In his travels there is barely a rock unturned and place he hasn’t discovered in this great state. And he has also had the opportunity to host numerous events and functions around Queensland including the Queensland Tourism Awards, the Tourism and Events Development Conference, the Southern Queensland Country Tourism Industry Conference as well as many Sporting events and festivals around the State. While Chris can regularly be seen on Queensland Weekender and hosting Gold Lotto each week, he is also the Ambassador for Bareboating in the Whitsundays, commentator of the Queensland Ocean Swim Series, a Board Director of Southern Queensland Country Tourism and ambassador for Isuzu Ute Australia.

Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts (ACPA)

The Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts, established 1997, has built a reputation for First Nations and All Nations performers to study dancing, singing and acting techniques in preparation for a career in the performing arts industry.

APCA Alumni include Australian Idol 2023 Winner Royston Noell (Sagigi Baira), Young Australian of the Year Denzel Baker (Baker Boy), Stage & Screen actor Jeremy Ambrum and 2019 Australian Dance Award Winner, Tyrel Dulvarie.

ACPA’s strength lies in providing high profile performance opportunities for our Students and Alumni, supported by quality training and mentoring, to build a bright new generation of First Nations and All Nations Performers.
