International Association for Dental Research (IADR)

The International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) is a nonprofit organisation with a mission to drive dental, oral, and craniofacial research for health and well-being worldwide. IADR represents the individual scientists, clinician-scientists, dental professionals, and students based in academic, government, non-profit and private-sector institutions who share our mission.

The Australian and New Zealand Division of the IADR has a long and proud history of involvement in dental research and the functions of the global IADR. The ANZ Division was formally formed in 1969 by the amalgamation of the New Zealand Section with the Australian Division which was established in 1968, and was preceded by the Australian Section established in 1961.

The Division’s members are active on many IADR committees, and have been recognised as leaders in their research domains through international awards and honours.

James Cook University (JCU)

James Cook University is committed to addressing the shortage of health professionals in regional, rural and remote Australia by developing a skilled, fit-for-purpose workforce through the College of Medicine and Dentistry.

JCU is delivering work-ready graduates to meet the needs of rural, remote and regional Australia. A particular focus is on those adversely affected by the disproportionate distribution of healthcare in Australia. Launched the Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2009, JCU has produced over 760 dental practitioners, the majority now working in regional and remote locations, where they are most needed.

JCU is proud to be hosting the 63rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the IADR ANZ Division and we look forward to welcoming to the Far North tropical paradise of Cairns.
