PRESENTATION TYPES:
Kauhau: Paper Presentations and Whakawhiti Kōrero: Round Table
Each presentation on both Panels and Round Tables sessions has been allocated a 15 minute speaking slot. There are three presentations per Panel/Round Table and a Chair will be nominated to introduce presenters, support the flow of the presentations and to facilitate questions and discussion after the presentations.
We ask that all presenters have respect for time constraints to ensure that all presenters have a chance to speak equally and that there is time for audience questions and comments to be heard. Please try to be at your presentation 5-10mins prior to the start, in order to meet your Session Chair and each other. We would appreciate it if presenters keep the order of speaking as outlined in the programme as often Conference attendees wish to move between panels or tables and do so in line with the stated speaking order.
Toikupu: Poetry and Pūrākau: Storytelling
These sessions will be dispersed throughout the gathering to enable more flexibility for the creative component that is integral to these presentations. Each presentation will have 15 mins. We encourage participants to consider utilising poetry or storytelling as a means by which to share your research.
Whakaari: Performance
These sessions will be during the evenings to enable more flexibility for the creative component that is integral to these presentations. Each performance will have 15 mins. Please note that all props must be provided by each performer and as we are in a marae setting limited resources will be available (for example there is no staging, lighting, or sound other than microphones).
Powerpoint Presentations
Powerpoint facilities are only available for Paper presentations with a maximum of 8 slides. Please bring your presentations on USB to the Information area at the marae prior to your panel for loading. Further information will be provided regarding the meeting point and will be posted on our website.
If you are on a Round Table and have visuals you wish to share please bring them on a laptop, iPad or in printed form to share with those at your table.
Language of Presentation
We welcome presentations in Indigenous languages. If you wish to do so please consider providing translation, either in writing or if there is someone travelling with you that may provide simultaneous translation.
Filming and Photography
There will be some official filming of sessions and photographs being taken by our team. Please indicate if you do not wish to be filmed or your photo to be taken. We will ensure those filming are respectful of your wishes.
