This 4 hour refresher course allows people who have previously completed a Mental Health First Aid course to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, the refresher courses offer an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.

The content of this refresher course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Standard MHFA Refresher Course

This course gives participants an opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills learnt during the 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course. You will:

  • Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
  • Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
  • Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
  • Practice mental health first aid skills.

For those looking to do a refresher course, your accreditation will only be extended if you have previously undertaken a face-to-face or blended MHFA course in the last three years. If you are unsure of your accreditation type or status, please contact Mental Health First Aid Australia or click here to login and check your accreditation. If you don't have a password, you can request one be sent to the email you registered with or provided to the instructor.

As our lead trainer for the RTWSA Return to Work Coordinator training, she demonstrates exceptional expertise and dedication. Additionally, Hailey is a licensed Mental Health First Aid trainer, passionate about fostering strong organizational cultures through effective training programs.
