In this session the Centre for Community Child Health and North Coast Region ECEC will co-present on the Platforms Project, a community partnership and service reconfiguration approach for improving outcomes for children and families. The session will explore the ‘big picture’ of the approach and include insights of the project in action at a local level.
This presentation will feature practical examples which help children enjoy a successful transition to school experience, with a focus on the respectful partnership element of the Department of Education and Training's Supporting successful transitions School Decision-making tool. Perspectives of the Queensland’s statewide approach will be shared, alongside insights from two school Principals and a Kindergarten Director.

The All Aboard Gympie Region Campaign unites community partners to strengthen the foundations for meaningful lifelong learnings in young children and their families in the Gympie Region by linking services for children and creating awareness of the importance of parents in providing learning experiences that foster quality relationships with their children.
Activities undertaken include establishing an online family directory, annual Little Kids Day Out event and promotion of a 'play in' fortnight across the community. On behalf of the campaign, Early Childhood Teachers Association (ECTA) and an Early Years Family Hub will share their partnership approach, successes and lesson learned along the way and next steps.
This session will share strategies for creating effective playgroup settings which foster environments supporting the needs of all children and families. The Abecedarian Approach is discussed as an example of such a strategy which empowers families to create effective and developmentally appropriate learning environments with children.
In this session C&K Bribie Island Community Kindergarten and Pelican Waters Golden Beach Kindergarten and Childcare Centre will co-present a session sharing innovative strategies to inform ECEC program and practice, drawing upon topics such as service planning, reflective practices, effective leadership, reciprocal relationships, commitment to culture and inclusiveness, to develop environments that enhance children’s learning and growth.
