2024 Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education’s 22nd Annual Research Conference

The 22nd Annual CPCRE Conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Brisbane, Queensland.
It will bring together palliative and end of life care researchers and clinicians from all settings including specialist palliative care, oncology, chronic disease management and aged care sector.

Terms and conditions
Health workers in all sectors – government and non-government and students in any health discipline can register to attend.
All cancellations must be received in writing.
- If a registration is cancelled before 20 September 2024 the fee will be credited less 25% for administration expenses
- Registrations cancelled before 14 October 2024 will be credited less 50%.
- No credit for cancellation of registration will be given after 14 October 2024 but a substitute delegate can be named.
It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of CPCRE to change the content and timing of the program, the speakers, the dates or the venue. In the unlikely event of the program being cancelled we will make a full refund of the registration fee but disclaim any further liability. Limited spaces are available and you may not be successful in registering.
COVID SAFETY
In the case of the event being modified or cancelled due to an unforeseen event or public health order, CPCRE will use best endeavours to ensure an appropriate alternative opportunity is identified.
We encourage all attendees and exhibitors to remain at home if they are feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms.

Professor Brian Le
Professor Brian Le
Brian is the Director of Palliative Care at The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Brian is a Physician specialist in both Palliative Medicine and Medical Oncology, and is a Professor (Clinical) in the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology and the Department of Medicine at The University of Melbourne. Brian is co-chair of the Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative, the largest international clinical trials group researching a range of treatments for palliative care symptoms. He is a past Chair of the Training Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, responsible for training of all Palliative Medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.
Brian is involved with many other Commonwealth and State Government and not-for-profit organisations concerning Palliative Care, and is a past chairperson of Palliative Care Victoria. Brian has published over 100 peer reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, is involved with research in the areas of palliative and supportive care, including clinical trials of novel therapies, and research into palliative care integration and benefits for patients and carers. He has received over $8.2 million dollars in competitive research funding from bodies such as the National Health and Medical Research Council.
