Associate Professor Laurence Harewood trained in General Surgery and Urology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.

Laurence was a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in urology in Australia, carrying out the first laparoscopic nephrectomy in Australia at the Freemasons Hospital in 1993. He has researched and published on minimally invasive therapy for BPH. He has been a well known proponent of robotic surgery for the prostate and kidney, commencing with Robotic Radical Prostatectomy for Carcinoma of the Prostate at the Epworth Eastern Hospital in 2005. He has been the Head of Unit of Urology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, President of the World Congress of Endourology and a Board Member of the Freemasons Hospital. He was appointed Clinical Associate Professor in Urology in the Department of Surgery of the University of Melbourne in 2008. He is the Director of the Urology and Vascular Clinical Institute at Epworth. He ceased clinical work in 2021, but continues in his role at Epworth, provides medico-legal opinions and is carrying out a clinical research project on PSMA PET scans in prostate cancer in conjunction with the Whitten Foundation at Epworth. Morey, MD in the Department of Urology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.  There he directed the successful Urologic Trauma, Reconstruction, and Prosthetics Fellowship program, mentoring 23 graduates, most of whom are now in academic practice and 6 of whom are currently fellowship program directors themselves.

A/Prof Daniel Moon is a urologist with subspecialty expertise in robotic prostate and renal surgery.  He served as the inaugural Director of Robotic Surgery at Epworth Healthcare 2012-2017 and is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Melbourne. He has performed over 2000 robotic procedures, published the first Australian series of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 2008, performed the first Australian robotic cysto-prostatectomy in 2009, and established a robotic partial nephrectomy program at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, publishing the first Australian series of this procedure in 2014 and the largest Australian partial nephrectomy series in 2017.

Dr Amanda Chung is a urological surgeon and is skilled in urogenital reconstructive surgery, functional urology and neurorology. She operates at Macquarie University Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Northern Beaches Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital. She completed her medical degree (BSc (Med) / MBBS) at the University of New South Wales in 2007, Master of Surgery (MS) at the University of Sydney in 2012 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016. David Sofield is a reconstructive urologist in Perth Western Australia.

After graduating from the University of Western Australia he attained fellowship in vascular and general surgery in Portsmouth UK. He then undertook training in urology in Western Australia, after which he completed a dual fellowship in reconstructive and laparoscopic oncological urological surgery in Birmingham,UK in 2003.

On return to Western Australia David established Perth Reconstructive Urology and established Australia’s first comprehensive centralised service for the management of penile cancer. He has presented at the AUA annual meeting on penile preservation techniques in penile cancer and co-authored a number of publications in this area.

Currently David practices in both private and public hospitals undertaking a full range of urological reconstructive procedures including urethroplasty, prosthetics, male and female urogenital fistula repair and robotic assisted reconstruction of the urinary tract, as well as continuing to head the centralised penile cancer service.

He is actively involved in training fellow consultants and trainees in reconstructive urology and has undertaken several visits to overseas units including India and the USA.
