USER AGREEMENT

TERMS & CONDITIONS

To register for The Event you must agree to the Terms and Conditions as set out below when prompted during registration.   Any updates will be listed at the bottom and dated.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

By attending, participants are agreeing to follow this Code of Conduct.

Our event will present opportunities to learn, share knowledge and network. We believe the event should represent a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment for all people, irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexuality, religion, disability, socio-economic background, experience, size, shape and so on. No one should be subject to any harassment, bullying or abuse. Any such behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take such action as we deem necessary to ensure it does not reoccur. This may include immediate removal from the event and a prohibition from attending future events held by Global Variome Ltd. This Code of Conduct explains exactly what we mean by unacceptable behaviour. You may view the detailed Code of Conduct HERE.

 

INSURANCE

It is strongly recommended that attendees have insurance to cover medical, travel, and registration expenses before coming to The Event.

The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in The Event, or through cancellation of The Event itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expense and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered.

 

COURSE CANCELLATION BY YOU & REFUND POLICY

The organisers understand that circumstances can change. At any point prior to The Event you are welcome to contact us in writing to nominate a substitute delegate at no extra charge.

A full refund less a AUD$50 administration fee will be issued for cancellations received on or before 15th August 2022.

No refunds will be issued on or after 16th August 2022. Non-payment does not constitute cancellation.
 


COURSE CANCELLATION OR CHANGE OF DATES BY THE ORGANISERS DUE TO FORCE MAJEURE

The organisers shall not be liable for any loss caused by the cancellation or postponement (change of dates) of The Event where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure. The term "Force Majeure" means any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the organisers including but not limited to war, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), terrorism, aircraft hijacking, military operation, riot, civil war, rebellion, civil commotion or unrest, any natural disasters including but not limited to volcano eruptions, earthquakes and weather events, acts or regulations of government, outbreaks of disease including but not limited to COVID-19, SARS and MERS, refusal to grant visas, explosions, transport delays, transport difficulties and the insolvency of airline carriers.  If the event does not attract enough in-person attendees to make it viable it shall also be considered as Force Majeure

In the event of Force Majeure the organisers shall monitor the situation and may alter The Event to a 100% virtual event. In the case of alteration to a 100% virtual Event, registration of in-person attendees shall be changed to a virtual registration and the difference in fees between the in-person registration fee and the virtual registration fee shall be refunded.  If the attendee is unable to attend as a virtual attendee substitution of the attendee with another nominated person is permitted provided it is done no later than one week prior to The Event; there shall be no refund except the difference between the in-person and the virtual registration fee. The organisers will use all reasonable efforts to conduct The Event despite the intervention or occurrence of any such cause of Force Majeure provided it is safe and possible to do so.  


DISCLAIMER

The conference organisers reserve the right to change activities, topics and presenters where necessary. The organisers shall not be liable for any loss caused by the cancellation or change to a 100% virtual Event where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure.  We advise that you should take out travel insurance that covers any such cancellation.
